Hello. I am Lila Karoub, licensed psychotherapist in the State of California. My private practice is in Del Mar, north of San Diego. I work with couples, individuals and families. My style of therapy is structural, which helps one gain a connection to the therapist quickly with a process called "joining". In addition, the therapist is very active in session, which offers direction, understanding, alternatives and advice. We work together to clearly to understand the underlying core problem, help restore "you" again, and lead you in making decisions necessary for recovery. We don't change a person, rather just help with unhealthy behaviors. My office has a calm, peaceful setting to help begin this process.
My practice does a complete assessment on the first session to determine what issues brought you to therapy. A individualized treatment plan is created specifically to your issues. If medication is the right decision or choice for you, the proper referrals are made to begin this process. With or without medication, new coping strategies are created and practiced.
